ASI PLAZA

The ASI Plaza is the first immediate project goal of ASI Bahamas Chapter.  The purpose is to meet a growing need to reduce the cost of healthy living and lifestyle in The Bahamas, in particular among the Adventist family of believers.  The initial stage is the food center which will provide healthy food choices, fruits and vegetables and environmentally safe bath and cleaning products.

We believer in the mandate given to the church through the pen of inspiration that the Health Message and Health Reform is the right arm of the Gospel. (CD 70.4)

We believe that many of the health challenges that Bahamians presently face; being ranked 10th in the world in non-communicable diseases are as a result of choosing poor quality foods and products because healthier choices are extremely expensive.

We believe as Adventists, our gospel light grows dim when we are also among the sickest people in the world.  Therefore we are anticipating through this plaza project to aggressively push the agenda of God’s Health Reform message.

BACKYARD FARMING

As a body of believers, we are very cognizant of the period in which we live.  The ASI Backyard Farming initiative is truly a call to become more self-sufficient in growing our food. (LDE 99.3)

ASI Bahamas plans to initiate backyard farming as a health reform business.  We plan to recruit each year 100 persons who are interested in starting a new business in backyard farming.

This project falls in line with supplying the ASI Food Plaza with locally grown fruits and vegetables.  This promotes health reform.  Adventists in the South Bahamas Conference will be encouraged to eat more seasonal fruits and vegetables, thus improving their diet.

Farmers improve their physical and mental health through exercise and personal self-worth from a steady and good income.

ISLAND MISSION

Island Mission is a subsidiary of ASI Bahamas.  We are pleased to unite with this great missionary effort since, under the direction of its President Audley Mitchell, it has become the mission right arm of the ASI Bahamas Chapter.

Island Mission is how help is given where needed on the family of islands.  Island Mission provides aid in construction renovations and repairs to churches, hospices and homes of the elderly, and other necessary aid especially in the area of disaster relief.

As in all projects and goals- unity is the key to success.

CREDIT UNION

“Money is of high value because if rightly appropriated, it can do good in the salvation of souls, and others who are poorer than ourselves.” (AH 372.1)

There is now much uncertainty and insecurity in the established banking within the country.

The establishment of such an institution, own and operated by Adventist, for Adventist is destined to become the gem of Adventist community.

Its mandate being:

  1. Loans for small businesses with low interest rates
  2. Secure savings with benefits
