The ASI fire has been lit and is now blazing throughout the South Bahamas Conference! On Sabbath afternoon, May 5, 2018, the Adventist – Laymen’s Services and Industries held its second General Meeting to inform members about what ASI is all about and its plans and projections over the next five years.
President Ian Greene passionately revealed that ASI has some big plans brewing. Among them is the establishment of a Credit Union, Food Plaza, Fuel Station, Scholarship Programme (at Bahamas Academy); a website where there will be a list of professionals from whom one can choose from to transact business products/services; training in developing and sustaining businesses; and training in backyard farming along with other vocational ventures. ASI is also planning on taking a delegation of over 100 persons to the ASI – IAD Convention in Cancun, Mexico August 5 – 13, 2018. Elder Greene stated that all these are possible once we believe and are committed 100% to Christ.
Members showed great excitement and enthusiasm about the plans projected and they inquired more about these plans during the Question and Answer period where the executives presented more details.
Elder Roderick Sands and Pastor Peter Joseph represented the ATCU and SBC respectively. They both presented remarks encouraging the ASI team and its projected plans.
ASI is projecting a strong membership of at least 10,000 Seventh-day Adventists. Realizing that they cannot afford not to be a part of this revolutionary ASI Chapter, members eagerly signed up!
ASI is also partnering with other ministries in the church such as Health Ministries and Prayer Ministries to fulfill its mission as well as in providing support.
The real aim of ASI is to empower the SDA membership to share Christ and to help them live a better quality of life.
